The leaves from this tree were the size of a dessert plate and just amazing to photograph. I started shooting the area around this tree about an hour after sunrise. It's tucked away a little bit, so I had some really great shadowed light to work with for about a half hour. Towards the end of the half hour, the sun started to come around the tree in front of it and created some backlight conditions on these giant leaves. This is the one that really caught my attention. I loved how the shadows came through the corner of the green leaf and then fell across the top of the leaf in front of it. I'm always amazed at how seemingly transparent a leaf can become with the right light.
